The quail and grouse season will be the last to close. That being February 15, 1973. Again this will be statewide.
FOR THE MOST part these proposals should be acceptable and even welcome to most hunters. They are a compromise between what had been in effect in the past East and West of the Blue Ridge. The same opening and closing on the same species should relieve some confusion.
The trapping season on fur bearers has been shortened. Mink, muskrat, opossum, and raccoon may be trapped from December 1 through the last day of February. The previous closing date was March 10.
