THE WAR BEING WAGED against Virginia Electric Power Company by Rappahannock landowners continues, and citizens have resorted to property by property defense.
According to Rappahannock County Commonwealth’s Attorney George H. Davis Jr., any and all landowners who may be affected by the proposed electric transmission line are seeking a similar restraining order to that issued earlier this month by Judge R.V. Snead in Rappahannock County Circuit Court.
The first order resulted in action by Henry Cook and Mr. and Mrs. Paul St. Clair of Amissville and Mr. and Mrs. Witold Kuncewicz of Flint Hill.
THE ORDER limited the size of trees which could be cut by surveying parties for the utility company, and declared that landowners must be notified in writing 72 hours in advance of the proposed survey.
