Pheasant season will be the first to close. There will be a six-day season this year. The last day will be November 18. Cocks only may be taken, one a day, two a year.
THE FALL turkey season will close December 31, 1972. The bag limit will again be gobblers only East of the Blue Ridge.
Squirrel and rabbit season will run through January 1, 1973. The bag limit of six a day on each of these species will remain. The early squirrel season of October 1 through 14 will remain.
Madison County, which for many years has had a September season, will this year switch to an October 1 through 14 season also. This should relieve Madison County of excessive hunting pressure it received in September when it was the only county open in this area.
