A NUMBER of new proposals concerning game and fish regulations were made by the Game Commission in March.
These were published last week. For those who may have missed them, or if your eyes wore out before getting through the fine print, here is a rundown on the proposals that will affect Rappahannock. (These are in the proposal stage only and will be adopted or rejected at another Commission meeting in Richmond on May 5.
The deer season and bag limit will remain the same as last year. The season will open on the third Monday of November, November 20, 1972, and end January 5, 1973. The bag limit as last year, will be two a year, one of which may be a doe on the last day.
Proposed is a bear season opening the third Monday, die same as deer season, and closing December 31, 1972. Bear season had been opening a week early. The live weight of a legal bear has been moved up to 100 pounds.
