THE BIGGEST change will concern small game. As proposed, rabbit, squirrel, grouse, quail, pheasant and turkey season will open on the second Monday in November, November 13, 1972, a week ahead of deer and bear season.
This will be statewide and eliminate the confusion of East and West of the Blue Ridge. Now the closing date on some of these species will be different. However, these dates will be the same statewide.
