Over 500 Boy Scouts and leaders attended and participated in the Shenandoah Area Council Spring Camporee May 19, 20 and 21. The weather was poor with rain most of the weekend, but the spirits were high as the boys participated in preparation of gateways, skill-o-rama demonstrations, and Olympics. Attending from Rappahannock County was Troop 65 of Sperryville and Troop 50 of Amissville. The site for the camporee was the Guest Farm in Warren which held up extremely well despite the weather conditions.
