Born in Harrisburg, Pa., McNear, 34, spent his childhood as son of an Army officer, living in many sections of the United States, Europe and the Far East.
He was graduated from Department High School in Heidelberg, Germany. He is the son of Col. E.A. McNear, former post commander of Vint Hill Farms Station.
