Whether you do your own grocery shopping or have someone do it for you, it is wise to plan ahead. Use recipes for two and buy only the amount you need. Try something new. There are all sorts of prepared mixes for breads and puddings that add zest to the meal. Chives, parsley, and mint add color and taste to the food. Real bright colored food always pleases the eye.

Use shortcuts and avoid a last minute rush. Mealtime is less tiring when some of the food is partly or fully prepared in advance.
