LET NOT YOUR HEART be grieved at summers going, For tarnished flower or russet vine and tree, This is the month of gladness, for it is showing April’s rich promise is reality.

Let not your heart be grieved though autumn stealing • Over the meadows bids the songbirds hush. This is the month for thanks at love’s revealing Of gathered harvest, and the burning bush.

I WONDER IF Richard Moreland in his poem “October” thinks of a dogwood as the burning bush. Could it have been the burning bush of Moses day? It seemed to be burning yet it was not consumed. Maybe we do not take off our shoes in reverence anymore, but don’t you feel like taking off your hat and stand with bowed head as we behold the beauties the Divine Architect has provided. Sometime ago a lady, in expressing her appreciation of the changing season, said that May and October were her favorite months. Well, both months have certain meanings for me. May gave me my wife. Astrologically, both months influence me. In the computerization of my natal day it was found that both Gemini and Scorpio have a strong effect on my psyche. So what; it would seem that the duality of Gemini would be enough for one poor mortal.

“Now the day is over” and itis about time for our little ‘ ‘now I lay me down to sleep. ” It has been a good day; had a friend call this morning, spent some time with my pastor as we visited a friend in hospital, and it was PAY DAY. Don’t mean that was the most important part of the day, but I bet most of you know what I mean. Let us think of all of our days as being important. To some Today is the first day of the rest of life, to others it may be the last day of life.
