ditional folk music related courses which will be offered. An overview of American folk instrumental music presented via the instruments themselves will be the theme of the “Folk Instrument Seminar” course. Lectures, demonstrations of instrumental techniques, and live and recorded musical examples will be some of the methods used in presenting the course. “Folk Music American Style” is designed to present the student with an overview of American folk music by examining styles, topics, and historical periods as reflected in folk song.

BOTH THE “Folk Instrument Seminar” course and the “Folk Music American Style” course will begin on Wednesday, November 1, and continue each Wednesday evening for seven weeks. The courses will meet in Room II of the College at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. respectively.
