Information in regard to obtaining permits and restrictions as to widths and limits for moving building over State Highways must be obtained from the Resident Engineer’s Office at Culpeper and Warrenton, Virginia. Purchase of an item does not guarantee the issuance of a permit to move. Permit information should be obtained before bidding.
Possession will not be given on any of the above buildings until notified in writing by the District Right of Way Engineer. Successful bidder will be given thirty (30) days to remove the building from the right of way and clear the site after notice to proceed. However, if the building is not available for removal at the time of payment, the successful bidder will be so advised and may be requested to hold the removal work in abeyance until the building becomes available for removal. When said building becomes available notice to proceed will be given. The performance bond will be returned upon satisfactory completion of the work.
No bids will be accepted from employees of the Virginia Department of Highways or from any person employed in connection appraisal and/or acquisition of the right of way or employed in connection with the sale of improvements on the captioned project(s).
The Department of Highways reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.
