Any stray has to be cared for for a period of five days, and unless it is a mangey mongrel, I most of the time keep them longer. Those that I put down, I do so here on our own place and that is no little problem in itself, and it costs the County nothing. From May 1970 to October 1972, there are records that show that I have picked up 398 dogs.
