General Daniel Noce recalled an earlier zoning hearing, which, he said, was attended by more “old timers.” Of that meeting the General recalled: “They thought that what was good enough for the old man was good enough for me. Dividing land for children was discussed, and it was pointed out that when you do this the parts keep getting smaller.”
General Noce saw as a greater danger pending U.S. land use legislation, which he said would provide for “land-planning on a national scale.”
“That would be a catastrophe, to put the control way up there. If you did that, you’d never have a meeting like this. That would be disastrous. If we can’t settle this problem ourselves, we’re sunk.”
PEGGY CLARK of Flint Hill asked if the zoning provided “any room for towns and villages to grow.”
Newbill Miller agreed that*“this is where the growth should be.”
