BUT SEVERAL persons were still festering about the alleged information gap, and Mrs. Irving Kilby suggested another night hearing in advance of the September 6 meeting of the Board of Supervisors, when a vote on the two ordinances is scheduled. When numerous difficulties were mentioned, this suggestion sort of fizzled out.
Mrs. Lucio Kilby was not convinced as the hearing drew to a close: “H6w can you represent your constituents’ views when your constituents don’t even know what we’re discussing?”
And Pete Estes got up to make a talk about how county government was only as good as the men who ran it. In this respect, he questioned the “integrity” of some members of the Board of Zoning Appeals.
“It’s an awful harsh thing to attack the integrity of a public official in public,” said Newbill Miller, “and I take exception to your statement.”
