RECENTLY I attended a Youth Rally. That was entirely proper, since I belong to this group (second time around).
There were two karate experts demonstrating the art of self defense. I think it is illegal to be on the offensive as their limbs are supposed to be registered as lethal weapons. I inquired if something of the supernatural was involved in the science. He replied in the negative, yet he said that when he was to destroy an object he “psyched out” till the object no longer existed to him, then it could easily be demolished. He also said he could rip my face off. He began a tentative examination of my jaw-bone, seeming to become excited. I didn’t want to lose face (my\own) so I didn’t encourage him.
Back in Bible days there was a man who was a real expert at destroying his enemies. His name was Samson. Judo, karate or Kung Fu? Were these sciences lost to civilized people as they developed more sophisticated weapons and retained by the so-called backward races? What is the purpose of their revival? It may be that the exponents of these arts, or their pupils, will be the Davids and Samsons of another era.D
