Col. Watts
Lt. Col. Theodore F. Watts (ret), 85, of Bristol, Md. died August 30 of injuries sustained in an automobile crash. During the 1930 ’s he commanded a Civilian Conservation Corps camp inSperryville.
Col. Watts was a native of Principio Furnace, Md. and a graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in civil engineering. He joined the U.S. Army in 1918, serving as a second lieutenant. Following his retirement in 1948 he became director of civil defense in Anne Arundel County, Md.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Chaney Watts at home and a brother, Lt. Col. Cecil Watts of St. Mary’s County, Md. □
