THE 25 ANNUAL Rappahannock County Invitational Mixed Doubles Handicap Whistlecup Tennis Tournament was held Sunday and Labor Day. There were six couples at each of four courts for the games Sunday and the winners from these concluded the tournament Monday. 4
Fanning Baumgardner and Kiki Slaughter were winners from the Sunday play on the I. L. Parrish court; Bill Snead and Nina Dahl were the victors at Mrs. N. K. G. Tholand’s; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Evans took the games on the James J. Kilpatrick court while Judge R. V. Snead and daughter Libby were the Snead court winners.
The Monday finals found Mr. and Mrs. Roland Evans with Judge Snead and Libby in the playoffs which took place at the Kilpatrick’s. The Evans took the match and were presented the Whistlecups by Mrs. Tholand. A picnic lunch followed the tournament at the Kilpatricks.□
