AFTER A marathon meeting, Rappahannock’s Board of Supervisors voted unanimously last Thursday to adopt new zoning and subdivision ordinances.
Most monthly meetings of the Supervisors are adjourned at noon, but last Thursday’s meeting extended almost until midnight—and even then the meeting was only recessed, not adjourned, and will be reconvened at 10 a.m. this Thursday to finish up some regular business that never got attended to.
The new ordinances were passed after a final flurry of hearings and a laborious, page-by-page review of all changes and alterations suggested up until the time of the Supervisors’ meeting.
Approval came in two motions by Supervisor Pete Luke (seconded by E. B. Wood Jr.) that also provided for printing of 100 copies of the ordinances. Within a month of the printing of the ordinances,probably in November, a public meeting will be held to invite public comments.
Then, a second public meeting will be held at the February, 1974, meeting of the Supervisors, and the agenda for the April meeting will include consideration of possible ammendments.
