THE marriage of Miss Mary Ann Cannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray T. Cannon of Castleton, to Peter Wendell Powell, son of former governor and Mrs. Wesley Powell of Hampton Falls, N.H., took place September 8, 1973.

The garden ceremony was performed by the Rev. John McKay beneath a chestnut tree at the home of the bride’s parents in the presence of the family and a few very close friends.

A musical program was presented by Mrs. Wilhelmina Amiss, violinist, and Miss Evelyn Guinn, pianist, both of Culpeper.

Miss Donna Cannon was maid of honor for her sister. James Cannon acted as best man.

A reception followed the. ceremony with additional guests attending. Music for dancing was provided by the Devrons.
