It was noted that the moratorium on subdivisions enacted while new subdivision and zoning ordinances were under study had expired three days previously, and that protective action was needed.
“A whole slew of deeds when on record during the moratorium,” observed E. M. Jones, clerk of the court and secretary to the Board of Supervisors.
THE MEETING was adjourned until 2:15 p.m. After a break to hear a request from the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (see the separate article), the discussion continued.
And it continued and it continued. At 5 p.m., a break was made for supper, until 7:30. Further pageby-page deliberations continued on through the night, with the final decision coming close to midnight.
