Supervisor Luke commented that, based on what he topk to be the feelings of his constituents, he would have preferred extending the county’s moratorium on subdivisions, to allow more time for the publiG to consider the new proposals. But when Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis said that it was his legal opinion that the moratorium could not be extended again, the approval subject to subsequent review was decided upon.
And as the final, vote was taken, Chairman Newbill Miller praised the legal advice and help given throughout the ordinance studies by George Davis. “If we had had to pay for that legal service, it would have cost the county $15,000 to $16,000,’’ Miller said.
THE CONTROLS agreed to late last Thursday included one major change, in addition to a number of relatively minor adjustments: The minimum lot size in an agricultural zone will be two acres on ground which ranges from zero to seven degrees slope; the minimum lot size remained at five acres for ground ranging from seven to 14 degrees in slope.
