RAPPAHANNOCK’S Board of Supervisors has approved a $1,000 appropriation toward helping pay for legal fees incurred in the effort to block proposed new powerline corridors through the county.
Phil Irwin, president of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, appeared before the Board at its September 6 meeting to ask for help in the “rather expensive” legal fight. He said the’case has cost $23,000 thus far, for lawyers and expert witnesses.
