It .strikes us that the Sperryville case has a lot in common with many other highway building proposals these days—from 1-66 in the “inner Beltway” around the District of Columbia*to fourlaning of what were once country roads. Most of them could be postponed, certainly, or even for-' gotten, probably.
We also realize, however, that once the Highway Department makes up its mind about something, there is little that can be done to dissuade their bulldozers. We don’t! want to discourage any of the different road factions in Sperryville by making this observation, but we do believe it should be kept in mind. □ -
