211. Askew said it was the Highway Department’s policy when four - laning a road to do as little work as possible on the old lanes. “It’s a matter of priority and money,” he said.
The supervisors maintained that numerous cars will pour out of Route 642 onto 211, then have to drive a mile, and cross through the fast-moving lane, to turn at the crossover and go in the opp&ute direction. They believe this will be a safety hazard.
According to Chairman Newbill Miller, the existing entrance of 642 onto 211 is unsafe anyway. He suggested that the supervisors include that comment in their request for redesigning of the project.
