Rappahannock County recorded a higher deer, bear and fall turkey kill this season than any previous year.
When all figures are in just over 400 deer will have been checked from Rappahannock County. This compares to 294 last year and to 338 in 1969-70, the previous record year.
It appears that 14 bear were killed in Rappahannock this past season. Only one was checked, a year ago. Nine bear were taken here during the 1970 season which was this county’s former record year.
