Many folks feel that long distance phone service within our small county is among the most serious of present problems. Just calling neighbors can add up to more than an already high basic rate. For many, the nearest police, fire and ambulance service is thru a billing operator in Leesburg. County government, businesses and organizations are inconvenienced. Certainly, long distance calls inhibit Rappahannock’s citizens from developing a cohesive community.
