RAPPAHANNOCK’S Water and Sanitation Authority says it has obtained “tentative approval” for state and federal grants which would fund 95% of the costs of a sewage disposal and treatment plant for Sperryville.
Wayne Burgess, deputy director for grant applications for Virginia’s State Water Control Board, told representatives of the Water and Sanitation Authority that funding for 95% of all steps of the project—from plan preparation to construction drawings to actual construction—is virtually assured. Representatives of the Sperryville Community Group and the Water and Sanitation Authoritv met with Virginia Regional Office of the State Water Control Board.
