HEAVY traffic viewing the autumn foliage resulted in only one collision Sunday on Route 211 west of Sperryville. Involved in the mishap was a 74 Dodge driven by William James Strickland of Shenandoah Valley Academy, New Market and a 72 Plymouth operated by John William Dailey of Alexandria.
According to Trooper R.A. Baines, the Plymouth was turning left into the Parkway Gift Shop lot when the Dodge attempted to pass. Dailey, driver of the Plymouth, was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $400 by officer Baines.□
TWO VEHICLES sideswiped Monday morning on Route 647 east of Flint Hill and the occupant of one was slightly injured. According to Trooper R.D. Irvine, Patrick- Lawler of Flint Hill in -a 71 Datsun pickup and David Stalker of Amissville in a 68 Ford were involved. Lawler sustained cuts on the forehead and bruised ribs. Both vehicles were totaled and no charges were placed, said the officer.
