$3.55. The South Carolina Piedmont area $3.30 and Central and Coastal areas $3.30 to $3.35. Alabama offering prices moved 20 to 25 cents lower at $3.70 to $3.95. Georgia was 15 to 19 cents lower at $3-80 to $3.90. Terminal prices at Memphis were $3.90 to $3.981/2 and Norfolk $3.69-1/2.
Cash bids to soybean growers in southeastern Virginia ranged $8.50 to $8.70 and Richmond $8.54 to $8.64.
CATTLE—A very uneven feeder cattle market prevailed in the Southeast during the week ended October 11. Feeder steer calves sold mostly steady to $1 higher except in Alabama where trends
were reported steady to $1 lower. In Florida, heifer calves were steady to $1 higher and South Carolina steady to $2 higher, but steady to $1 lower in Georgia and off as much as $1.50 in Alabama. Feeder steers and heifers were steady except Georgia steers were up $1 and Alabama steers were down $1 on both classes.
Uncertainty prevailed in the feeder cattle market as indicated by the uneven trends and prices between markets within the same trade area. Slaughter buyers continued to be the dominate bidders for fleshy 350 to 550 pound calves.
