Bruce had been questioned earlier about details involved in the Lee sheep case. Bruce said Mrs. Juanita Miko’s dogs had been seen “barking at the sheep, and someone saw one dog fooling around,” but that no one had actually seen the kill.
All of the Supervisors laughed at the identification of the dogs’ owner; Mrs. Miko had been before the board previously with claims on the dog fund of her own.
ANOTHER claim approved was for a “a 100-pound lamb” that belonged to Randall Updike. Again, the dog warden attested that the animal had certainly been killed by dogs. Some other sheep “torn up in the attack had survived,” so the claim was only for one sheep.
