RAPPAHANNOCK Panthers took the Class A State Cross Country Crown in competition Saturday at Williamsburg, making this the fourth consecutive year in which the title hag been captured by Rappahannock County High School. The Panther’s score was 24. They hacked two points off of the previous year’s score. A perfect score is 15.
Jerry Thomas was the number one man for the Panthers with Bill Taylor placing second and Ronnie Nicholson was in third place on the team. Two individual runners outdistanced Rappahannock’s first man, but these were not team members.
