The sweet taste of victory— there’s nothing like it as our Cross Country Panthers well know, after their victory this past Saturday at the State Cross Country Meet in Williamsburg where they once again earned the title of Single A State Cross Country Champions for the fourth time in a row. Our runners placed as follows: Jerry Thomas, third; Bill Taylor, fourth; Ronnie Nicholson, fifth; Raymond Groves, ninth; Clifton Jenkins, eleventh; Donnell Carter 13th, and Billy Dawson 17th.

What a great way to end up a terrific season! All during the race our runners were! cheered on by a large group of Rappahannock fans who went to support their team Saturday and you couldn’t have found a happier group when the results were finally announced and the trophies given out. I know the support was really appreciated by the team. Now there’s only one problem and that is trying to find enough space in our school trophy case to fit in one more Cross Country trophy. I’m sure that’s one space shortage at R.C.H.S. that will be very much apprecia-. ted! Congratulations Panthers, you’re still no. 1.
