THE VIRGINIA Education Association has voiced strong opposition to the censorship of any “carefully selected curriculum materials,” and any attempt to evaluate school divisions and/or teachers on the basis of student test score.
The delegate assembly adopted the findings of several task forces, among them one which recommended the elimination of sex-role stereotyping and sex bias in curriculum materials and textbooks used in Virginia schools. The assembly also urged an equitable salary schedule for all coaches, male and female.
