WMU meets
THE MONTHLY meeting of the Washington Baptist Church Missionary Society was held at the home of Mrs. Oliver Carver Tuesday afternoon. Present were Mrs. W.M. Fletcher, Mrs. Jack Nicholson, Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett, Miss Mary M. Wood, Mrs. Gilbert Updike, Mrs. Lillie Lillard, Mrs. Frances Eubank, Mrs. Helen Smoot, Mrs. L.J. Turner, Mrs. Guy Burke, and Mrs. W.C. Campbell.
Miss Mary Miller Wood spoke on mission work being done in Colombia, South America, and “Learning To Do By Doing,” taken from the third and fourth chapters of the Book of Acts. Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Carver sang a duet. Mrs. Helen Smoot played a couple of numbers on the guitar, with Mrs. Carver as accompanist.
At the close of the meeting, refreshments were served.□
