Warrenton Town Manager Ed Brower was concerned that the District Commission’s Criminal Justice Advisory Council had recommended approval of the riot plan when only five members were at the meeting. There were supposed to be 20 some members.
Despite the Commissioners’ doubts that there will ever be any riots in the area, they approved the plan. Fauquier Superviser John B. Adams complimented Mardavich for his “bang-up job.” Everybody concurred.
The riot plan did not include any funding requests for individual police departments. That came later in the Criminal Justice plan for the next fiscal year. This plan is the “shopping list” for federal grant proposals made by local police departments.
