Schools are somewhat like they are here, but all subjects are not taught every day and when Ari enters the twelfth grade this fall he will take about 13 subjects.
Other interesting points Ari made were that 96% of the churches are Lutheran and all men must have one year of military service, but it can be served anytime between the age of 19 and 27.
Ari’s trip was sponsored by the Leppavirta Lions Club in the youth exchange program and to the Rappahannock Lions Club he brought a letter of greetings and a pennant with the coats of arms of the nine provinces of Finland. He will leave Rappahannock this weekend.□
