Warrenton was asking for five riot helmets, five riot masks, five vests for $700. Rappahannock was asMng for three of each of the riot gear.
ALSO IN the police funding request plan, Fauquier Circuit Court Judge Rayner V. Snead was requesting $1,208 in federal funds to build a bullet-proof glass shield around his bench. Snead was apparently fearful of a repeat of the incident that occured in Louisa County where a judge was shot in court.
The funding request plan, however, recommended disapproval of two funding requests from Warrenton and The Plains. The Plains wanted $9,500 to hire a full-time police officer so that there can be police around the clock in the town.
