A NUMBER of arrests—involving both drugs and stolen property, in different cases—were reported in Rappahannock County this past week by the Sheriff’s Department and by the Virginia State Police.

Sheriff John Walker Jenkins reported the arrest of a Sperryville man, and the issuance of felony warrants for three other persons, in connection with breaking and entering and grand larcency cases.

The State Police conducted a raid July 7 in the Castleton area, resulting in the confiscation of approximately 200 marijuana plants, along with numerous other illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

Peter Stone was arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs and was incarcerated July 15. A grand jury Monday indicted Stone. Stone lived in a tenant house on the Florence Settle property at Castleton. The early morning raid was conducted by Troopers R.A. Baines, J. A. Watson and R. Montgomery.
