RAPPAHANNOCK Count} Extension Homemakers Club members have been busy since mid March working on a needlepoint design. Each county and city, in the state has been asked to design a needlepoint square 12" by 12" of historic or geographicsignificance to their county or city. All of these squares will be assembled into a 9’ by 12' tapestry which will be a gift from Virginia Extension Homemakers Council to the state for the Bicentennial.
Committee members working on the needlepoint square were Mrs. Mary Priest, County-Chairman; Mrs. Violet Cooley and Mrs. Prances Terhune from the Amissville Extension Homemakers Club; Eileen Manwaring from the Woodville Extension Homemakers Club; Mrs. Flo Duvall, Mrs. Mary Cleveriey and Mrs. Corinne DelGrosso, Vice-County Chairman, from Flint Hill E. H. Club. They first met as a committee March 28 to plan a theme for the needlepoint square. They decided to use George Washington surveying the Washington area and the Toll House near Washington.
