The Chester Gap Fire Department as well as the Front Royal Department was called Saturday morning to a fire in Harmony Hollow where the house of Harry Olmstead was destroyed.
Amissville Fire Company responded to a wreck a quarter mile west of Amissville on Route 211 July 24. The following day this unit was called to the barn fire at Evans near Castleton and the same day answered a brush fire alarm at Rappahannock Park on Route 645.
Amissville Rescue Squad answered a sick call July 20 and again on the 24th at the Kellison residence on Route 669. July 21 this unit responded to the Wharton residence for an injury and on the 30th the squad answered a sick call to the Ficklin residence on Route 639 and later made a transport from Dr. Quaintance’s office to the Ficklin residence.
July 31 this unit responded to King Memorial Park at Castleton to assist Castleton in an injury and was called again to the baseball park where service was refused.
July 28, the Sperryville Rescue Squad took John L. Jenkins from a tractor accident on the Mt. Vernon Stock Farm to Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
August 2, The Sperryville Rescue Squad carried Mrs. E.N. Montague from her home in Sperryville to Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
