Fauquier, unfortunately, shows every sign of wanting to let down the flood gates. Despite a reputation for having public officials who want to “control” growth at an “orderly” pace, the actual performance of public officials in that county has been something to the contrary. Rules and regulations formulated at one time to protect the countryside and discourage ugly and improper development are being weakened or thrown out entirely. Developers and exploiters are being accommodated at every turn. Such destroyers of the countryside as regional sewers and super highways have been embraced without question, and the entire emphasis in Fauquier is for growth, growth, growth.
