THE Festival and Exhibition is a non-profit event. All proceeds, after expenses, will go toward scholarships for craft students.
Each craftperson will donate a handcrafted piece of his best work which will be displayed at the Festival grounds and then presented to the State of Virginia for Bicentennial exhibition through 1983. The exhibition will then be offered to the Smithsonian in Washington for the Tri-Centennial Celebration.
On opening day, August 25, the Festival will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening program at 12:30 p.m. At that time Gov. Mills Godwin is expected to officiate at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Festival will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $2 for adults, $1.25 for children, 7-12 and free for children 6 and under.
The Warren County Fairgrounds is located seven miles north of Front Royal, Virginia on Route 340.
