Washington attorney Doug Baumgardner, representing the Rappahannock Ski Area, asked that Askew have a traffic count taken on the Ski Area’s access road, now and again after the anticipated re-opening in the summer of 1978, to determine if the road, met the requirements to be paved.
George Patterson asked for improvements on Route 622, including better drains, culverts and additional gravel.
“We’re trying to start improvements in that vicinity immediately,” answered Askew. He also noted that work on widening the road on the blind curve between Routes 614 and 623, requested by Hugh Chrisman, would begin as soon as the right-of-way was obtained.
Juanda Rogers told Askew that Route 729 between Flint Hill and Ben Venue needed a culvert since the road was under water after a heavy rain and Oliver Carter asjfe* ed that improvements to the roaa and bridge on the Fodderstack Road outside of Washington include grading to eliminate dips.O
