KEM SHACKELFORD from the Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission followed Falkner with a presentation on alternatives for remodeling the old summer kitchen next to the court house into offices for the county zoning administrator. She noted that it would be difficult to include a partition to separate the zoning administrator’s work space from the receptionist’s area without enlarging the building. , “Will we need this additional space if we put up a new building” for the clerk’s office? asked Supervisor Clarence Baldwin.
“We might, we might no,” Luke responded. He noted that several county offices were located in private buildings, paying rent. Remodeling the summer kitchen would be “a minimum type of arrangement” to secure consolidated county office space with no rental payments, he said.
The Board agreed that no decision was necessary on the summer kitchen until a conclusion was reached on the clerk’s office alterna4^ tives. Kem Shackelford’s plans were also put on display in the court room on the rear wall adjacent to the stairs.—Daphne McCullough □
