Scheme D, an alternate on Scheme C with the same price tag, would place a new clerk’s office to the rear of the court house, said Falkner.
Putting the new clerk’s office to the side of the court house would keep foot traffic to the front of the buildings, noted Supervisor chairman Pete Luke. An office to the rear of the court house would limit the options of future Boards for eventual expansion of the court house itself, he thought. “If we’re going to build, I feel it’s better to include room for expansion.”
Commonwealth’s Attorney George Davis praised the design work done by Falkner in all four of the alternatives. “I don’t know of anything you’ll get more flack on than not having the proper architectural design in any court house expansion,” Davis commented.
Luke reported that he had met with the county auditor and had been told that the county had $165,000 in the Revenue Sharing trust fund.
