The target date in Rappahannock County for a Special Kids Interest Program (SKIP) is January or February of the new year. Recreation Coordinator Sallie Washington told school Board members at last month’s meeting that the program is designed to “enrich children’s liyes” by providing after-school socialization and recreation for educable mentally retarded adolescents.

Taken

The larceny of lumber from the building site on property owned by Col. Frantz of Washington is being investigated by Sheriffs Deputy R. D. Hawkins. According to Hawkins, on January 2 approximately 200 2 x 4’s were taken. The estimated value of the loss was $300.

Sheriff W. A. Buntin and Hawkins investigated the breaking and entering of Battle Run Church on Route 729 December 30. Apparently vandalism resulted with articles, books and fans, thrown around the building. Several panes of glass were broken for entry into the church. Damage was estimated at $7S.
