The only solution to the problem is to start afresh. This issue, the first of 1978, is marked 29th YEAR, No. 1. The last issue of 1978 will be marked 29th YEAR, No. 52 since normally there are 52 weeks in a year.
Now issues of The Rappahannock News can be bound neatly in annual volumes with the numbers running from one to 52, corresponding with the weeks of the calendar.
Although apologies must be extended to anyone who becomes confused while trying to index the 1977 issues of The Rappahannock News, it is hoped that future issues will be easier to compile. Meanwhile, save those December editions.
