The National Hu^r Society met Friday. Plans were made to attend South Wales on Saturday. June 3 for a fun day of swimming and tennis. The FHA will be attending also. Let’s hope , f',r a lot of sunshine and warmth.
Cheeryleading tryouts were held May 30. No one is sure who the new cheerleaders will be but the gym has been filled with a lot of girls, all sizes and shapes. Even a few guys are trying out. Good luck to everyone.
The sports banquet, which was held May 27, was a great success. Awards of many kind were given out.
Tuesday was a special day at RCHS. It was Career Day with people representing a number of occupations or professions meeting with students. Included were Mrs. Frances Thornton, nursing; Mrs. Cindy Wavland. teaching; Ellen Mustoe, social work; Lyt Wood, forestry; James Leake, real estate; Mrs. Darlene Moore, cosmotology; law en. forcement. Sheriff W.A. Buntin; construction, Joe Williams; Law, Douglas Baumgardner; college. Rapley Owings; lumber, Mr. Griffith; Banking, Mr. Orndorff, FMC, Mr. Sonak; Highway Department, Mr. Morris. The program was enjoyed by many and an insight to job skills was attained. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week the thump of bouncing basketballs can be heard in the gym. The JV basketball
