The State Highway and Transportation Commission has awarded contracts for additional restoration work on winter-damaged highways in Culpeper District. Mega Contractors, Inc., Richmond, was awarded a contract for S582.551 and Lee Hy Paving Corp., Richmond, was awarded a contract for $343,900.
Preliminary estimates show an estimated 4,650 miles of state highway were damaged by winter weather. It is expected to cost over $23 million to repair the roads.
