Chairman
Former Delegate French Slaughter who represented Rappahannock for 20 years in the General Assembly has been named chairman of Virginians For Warner, arf independent group supporting Republican candidate John Warner for the U.S. Senate.
A member of the Virginia House of Delegates for 20 years. Slaughter was a Democrat for 16 and an Independent for four. He is a senior partner in * the Culpeper law firm of Button, Slaughter, Yeaman and Martin.
In 1976, Slaughter was state co-chairman of Virginians for Byrd, supporting the reelection of Sen. Harry F. Byrd, Jr., a post he also held for Gov. Dalton's campaign last year. He also was active in the 1973 campaign of Mills E. Godwin, Jr.
